Jeff Summers is Utah's first recipient of 2007 SAMMY Award

(Eden, UT) Jeff Summers, Mountain Operations Manager for Wolf Mountain, has been awarded the S.A.M.M.Y. Leadership Achievement Award. Ski Area Management Magazine and the National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) awards top leaders for their contributions to the ski industry each year at their national convention in Palm Springs, CA which was held May 5 - 10, 2007.

This award is given to a few select individuals whose strong, innovative leadership demonstrated at mid-career shows exciting promise for even more accomplishments and leadership in the future. This award has never been received by anyone in Utah and only one person on the west coast has ever been honored.  This is an honor for Jeff Summers and a very positive achievement for Wolf Mountain.

"Jeff has a true passion for the ski business. In my 29 years experience, I have never known any operations manager with more pride and ownership of his product than Jeff. His standard for grooming is above the industry norm. He truly has the skier's eye for our product," said Bill Cox, General Manager of Wolf Mountain.  "During the course of renovating Wolf Mountain and turning this tired resort into a community treasure, I have found him to be creative and diligent in all projects that he has lead. Jeff has demonstrated his passion through emergency repairs, long nights of grooming, and prideful interaction with guests all season long. His team has continued to shine this season and the new Wolf Mountain has become a favorite family destination in Northern Utah! Jeff is skilled in all operations from holding a wrench, wiring a control panel, building custom ski racks from logs to holding the hand of a child on their first ride on our Magic Carpet. I truly count it as my pleasure to work beside of Jeff, and I congratulate him on being one of this year's Sammy winners!"

"He has implemented extremely high safety and operational standards and is just an all around great guy," said Nancy Seraphin, Marketing Director for Wolf Mountain. "He has put Wolf Mountain on the map of reputable ski and snowboard areas." He and his team will soon be installing the area's 4th lift, which will terminate at the top of the Wolf's Lair Terrain Park. Wolf Mountain will also be open for lift served mountain biking on weekends starting May 26. For more information call (801) 745-3511 or www.wolfmountaineden.com.
